The Toronto Blue Jays have moved their June 25-27 series against the Phillies from Rogers Centre in Toronto to Citizens Bank Park because of the G20 Summit. The G20, which hosts many of the world’s political and financial leaders, is June 26-27 at the Metro Convention Center, and there are security and congestion issues with the two sites just feet away.
The change gives the Phillies a nine-game homestand June 18-27 against Minnesota, Cleveland and Toronto, and shortens a road trip June 28-July 4 against the Reds and Pirates to just seven games. The teams will use American League rules — there will be a DH — and the Blue Jays will have last at-bats. In other words, they are the “home team” in Philadelphia that weekend.
Lucky bastards.

“Somebody maybe ought to check the Mets if they did that,” Charlie Manuel said. “Their [bleeping] home record is out of this world and they’re losing on the road. Sometimes that’s a good indicator of getting signs and [crap]. I see somebody setting there at (14-7) at home and (4-8) on the road, I’d get concerned about that. That kind of crosses my mind.
“I’m not accusing them, but you look at that and — damn. We’re about the same home and road. I’m just saying their record is much better at home and they hit better.”
Get caught cheating and start pointing fingers…

PHILADELPHIA — A New Jersey man is facing charges after police say he intentionally vomited on an 11-year-old girl in the stands during a Phillies game.
Twenty-one-year-old Matthew Clemmens of Cherry Hill, N.J., was arraigned early Friday morning on charges stemming from an incident during Wednesday night’s Phillies-Nationals game.
Police say Clemmens began trying to make himself vomit on an off-duty police captain and his family after a companion was removed from the stadium for unruly behavior.
Easton police Capt. Michael Vangelo says he saw Clemmens put his fingers down his throat and throw up, hitting Vangelo and his 11-year-old daughter. Philadelphia police say Clemmens also punched Vangelo and vomited on an arresting officer.
Clemmens was in custody Friday morning on charges including assault and harassment. Bail was set at $12,000.
